Search engine optimization (SEO) plays an important role for every website. There are many different things to consider here, not all of which we have currently integrated into SYSSY.
SYSSY concentrates on the most important things and currently only checks the start page of your domain for the most important SEO issues.
The data from all websites is updated daily so that you are always up to date.
Most of the data is for information purposes only, except for the “robots” meta tag. If this is set to “noindex”, your page may not be indexed by search engines. In this case, a notification will be created and you will be notified. If it is a conscious decision not to index, e.g. for an intranet or other internal application, you can set the notification to “ignore”.
When remonitoring on the project detail page, the SEO data is retrieved and checked again. Alerts such as a noindex in the robots tag are rechecked and marked as resolved as soon as you have released the page for indexing.
Problems that are recognized:
- Indexing not possible (robots tag set to “noindex”)
- Missing page title or missing meta description
- Missing sitemap.xml
- Missing robots.txt
SEO detailed view per project
There is a detailed view with the most important SEO information for each website. The SEO information is read and analyzed daily from the websites.
A traffic light symbol also indicates whether there are problems or not in the view:
Green stands for “Everything ok”
Orange stands for “Optimization required”
Red stands for “Attention, something is wrong here”
The following things are checked:
Page title
Is there a <title> tag and is there only ONE and no more?Meta-Tags (Schlüsselwörter, canonical, robots, generator, og:title, og:url, og:description, og:image)
Are these present and filled?XML Sitemap
Is there a XML sitemap?robots.txt
Is the robots.txt file available?H1
Is there a H1 heading?
SEO list view
In the list view, you can see SEO information from all your projects in table form.
The many coloured traffic light dots may seem confusing at first glance, but on closer inspection you can see exactly which projects require optimization and which customers you can make targeted offers to optimize.
For more details, you can switch to the detailed view for each project.
Why do you need the SEO overview?
On the one hand, all your projects are checked regularly, i.e. you become aware of things that may not be running optimally.
An important feature is checking whether the website can be indexed by search engines, as people often forget to set the robots tag to “index” when they go live. This is discovered either by accident or when the customer cannot find the website in the search engine and complains. But thanks to SYSSY this no longer happens! :)
Furthermore, you can use the overview to find “problem projects” or non-optimized projects and make customers specific offers for optimization. This not only brings more orders and more turnover, but also a better website for the customer! :)
